Monique Hercules Named 425 Business 40 Under 40 (Class of 2026): The Remontant Has Arrived on the Eastside

I’m excited to share something special with you.

I was recently named to 425 Business Magazine’s 40 Under 40 – Class of 2026, an honor recognizing entrepreneurs and leaders shaping the future of business in our region.

This recognition is deeply cherished by me. The Remontant—which means a flower that blooms more than once in a season—has always represented growth, resilience, and intentional becoming. I see this moment as a petal on a precious bloom: not fully blossomed yet, but budding, growing, and unfolding into its fullest self.

After being an online brand for several years, we recently opened our brick-and-mortar store in Downtown Kirkland, and I really wanted to hone in on the Eastside to let our community know: The Remontant has arrived. We finally have a home to call our own—a space where our customers can come in, create their own custom scent creations in our immersive candle-making classes, or shop our phthalate- and paraben-free scents to accompany their everyday life rituals.

Being able to share this space as a home for other PNW women-owned businesses is something I don’t take lightly. It’s such a joy and an honor, especially because so many of these women are people I know, people I admire, and women I get to call friends. Creating room for their work to live, breathe, and be seen inside The Remontant feels like a full-circle moment—one rooted in community, care, and shared growth.

To be recognized for this honor—so deeply tied to the 425, the Eastside of Seattle—is immensely encouraging to me. This is the community that has watched The Remontant grow from an idea, to an online brand, to a physical space with a door you can walk through. To be seen and celebrated here, at home, means more than I can fully put into words.
